A great Intro to Running with a fantastically positive instructor. A good course for anyone who wants to start running!

Before taking the Intro to Running training I was struggling with my breathing. By the time I finished I knew the rules of running and proper running form. I felt better, faster, and stronger.

I thought I was not a runner and could never be one. On a whim and by a chance meeting with Erika, I jumped in and discovered I’m not only a runner, but now there’s a whole world opening up for me.

As a walker, I felt that I would feel “left out” but was comfortable walking my “sexy walk” and pacer, Kat Torres. Before taking the Intro to Running training I could run only in segments because of breathing problems. By the time I finished the training, I felt stronger and able to finish the task! The class helped me feel accountable because I certainly didn’t want to waste time or money. And now I have a better idea and can more easily land mid-foot.

Before taking the Intro to Running training I thought I had good running form. By the time I finished training I seriously improved my form and motivation to run.


Erika’s class combined something I love – yoga – and something i wanted to love – running and it actually worked! As hard as it was to wake up early on Sunday mornings to stick with this class, I’m so glad that I did. Erika is knowledgeable, fun, organized, and super encouraging, particularly for beginning runners like myself. Her curriculum completely prepped us for the 5k, including great tips on everything from running form to gear. My first race was a thrill, and I give credit to her for making it so do-able. I’m a runner now, and i highly recommend this class to someone who has thought about running but needs that extra push.


Before training in the LA River 5K Fun Run Training I couldn’t run for long. By the time I finished the training I could run a lot more then I thought I could! I got slightly faster, some weeks I pushed myself to keep up with the group. Thank you for confidence and encouragement!
